East Coast Surf Championships
Virginia Beach - August 2012

As usual, the East Coast Surf Championships was a blast. Paul West and company went all out for the oldest US surf contest for it's 50th annaversary, A long time for he contest and a lot of years for me entering contests. I entered my first one in 1964. This year I really felt I was ready but then missed my first heat when it was changed to early in the week. I was thinking of retiring so not sure if I will compete again but at least the activities are fun and I always see a lot of old friends.

I remember Tony from years back. He has come a long way since then.

A week or so back I asked this great young local Assateague surfer when she was going to enter some serious competitions.
She said ECSCs would be her first. I've watched her for awhile now and think she is ready to make her move.
