Orlando Surf EXPO 2009 Pictures

This years Surf EXPO was a little smaller then in past years, probably a reflection of the economy and how many shops are gearing up for big spring seasons. I normally like to attend to like visit old friends as well as see what's new on the market. Many old friends were there and I had a great time. Besides the EXPO, I had the opportunity to hold the annual meeting of the National Surf Schools and Instructors Association (NSSIA) on Saturday morning in the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame booth. It was a super meeting well attended by instructors, surf school owners, surfing legends, and both Surfrider and media representatives. The NSSIA is well on track to expand its role with the surf school industry this coming season.

As unusual as it sounds, I didn't happen to have my camera with me on Saturday night when I was out on the town and ran into Huntington Beach pro surfer Tom Dosland. He was hiding in the back listening to music and getting ready to perform at the BB King Jaz Club later that night. Below are some pictures from my three days at the show.
