"Snake" Gabrielson and Friends
Morro Negrito Surf Camp
Panama - February 5-12, 2010

First trip to Panama. Decided to get as far away from the crowd as possible. After a long flight to excape the snow in Maryland, plus a 6 hour bus ride, I arrived at a fabulous setting on an island off the coast of Panama. Unfortunately didn't get an epic swell for the big breaks but at least I got to surf some nice waves every day.

Continental had a 2 1/2 hr wait in line to check luggage when I left.

First camp where we wait for a boat to the island.
Boat can only load at high tide.

Interesting rock next to one of the breaks, El Toro.

Saw monkeys in the trees above camp.

View from the hill behind the camp.

I got in some fishing in the afternoons.
Notice my Panama Jack hat.

Sunset from the social/eating area.
Sometimes a nice left broke in front of camp.
